Update as of May 2021

Like many other performing groups, the Marcus Mosely Chorale has been on hiatus since March, 2020.

Little did we know that “Stayed on Freedom”, a Celebration of Black History (February, 2020) would be our last for quite sometime.

Although the Chorale & Ensemble have not been performing, our directors have managed to carve out a living and provide wonderful soulful entertainment to audiences (if only virtually)!

Our Artistic Director, Marcus, has been doing voice over work with BigBadBoo Studios (out of New York & Toronto) and is the lead singer for “ABC with Kenny G”-after all the humans have gone to bed, Kensington slinks down to the “milk & cookies” jazz club to sing late night tunes for his fellow furry friends, all while teaching them the ABCs. Each episode features a song about a different letter in the alphabet . The series is scheduled to be released in Spring, 2021. He’s also been performing in Virtual concerts at The Bez (Langley) ,Shadbolt Centre and Christ Church Cathedral. In March, Marcus was the guest of UBC Singers and was thrilled to sing in an actual setting with all 50 singers socially distanced.

Our Manager, Roxie Giles and her husband, Don hosted a socially distanced garden concert in August with Marcus Mosely, Bill Sample, Darlene Ketchum and Tom Keenlyside performing. We hope to make this a regular summer event!

Our Choral Director, Darlene Ketchum-Cooper and our Music Director, Bill Sample were married in September, 2020. Bill released a solo Christmas album “We Three Kings” in December, 2020 and their duo Wild Blue Herons can be found performing (live & virtual) throughout the Lower Mainland. Please check their website wildblueherons.com for more details.
