Penny also designs Art lights and one of a kind clothing and is working on a book about her art and healing journey.

She teaches in her studio on Vancouver Island, in locations throughout BC and in Europe and hopes to complete her MFA in Italy before her 60th birthday. Her work has appeared in shows in Canadian and Italy as well as several articles/magazines and in North Light books. She describes her work in this way:

My style marries representational images with strong abstract elements. Color, the play of paint, line and the magic between dark and light are a focus. Themes such as sacredness, loss, love, hope and transformation inspire me. I am always painting things with wings – like  birds and dragonflies, but also my dreams, ancient doors, portals and pathways, people or angels, and the intoxicating beauty of how light and shadow fall in Florentine streets. I use symbols from nature, ancient cultures and my own inner world to tell a story, but what I am really trying to paint is emotion.

Penny has been making art for 50 years and has had the privilege of teaching children and adults for 34 years in schools, community and corporate settings, in her studio and on location in Italy and in various beautiful settings on  the wild west coast of Vancouver Island.
